A Spokesperson for The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said in a press statement that the organization is “deeply saddened” by the reports of the tragic loss of many migrants who are believed to have been killed or injured in a Houthi rebels’ detention center for African migrants in Sadah , northwest Yemen, after what Houthi-controlled television described on Monday as a U.S. airstrike.
IOM Spokesperson added that while IOM has not been operating at this facility, the organization remain committed to closely monitoring the situation and stand ready to offer support as needed.
IOM Spokesperson called on all parties to the conflict to prioritize the protection of civilians and ensure full respect for International Laws.
